Permaculture offers convenient solutions to the world's environmental problems.

As environmental concerns grow, Permaculture design founded by Bill Mollison, offers viable solutions to individual’s and business’ everyday problems by looking to nature first.

Permaculture is a worldwide movement that has been going on since the 70s. It is a silent, humble movement, and its effects are profound. More people than you think know about it and incorporate it into their daily lives. Permaculture design is for everyone.

More than ever environmental issues top the charts; climate change, pollution, and declining aquifers and potentially peaking oil are all modern challenges that most agree, should be dealt with immediately. Permaculture design is a source of information that offers wise and even easy solutions. Whether a person is an architect, graphic designer, financier, politician, teacher or homemaker, Permaculture design can benefit all aims by using principles of natural design.

Permaculture is a movement that was founded by the Bill Mollison in Australia. As a forester and academic Mollison used his genius and powers of observation to devise an ecological approach to living and problem solving by understanding the patterns of nature. In 2010 he was named “Australian of the Year.”

People can learn and partake in Permaculture by partaking a two week Permaculture Design Course. The purpose of the course is to introduce the concepts that allow people to begin to think like ecological designers. Learning how to read the geographical landscape, understand environmental patterns, natural building techniques, resource management, food forestry, and even green business are just some of the things people will learn by taking a course. Courses should be taught by teachers who have been trained as a Permaculture instructor with several years of successful design experience.

Bill Mollison famously said “Though the problems of the world are increasingly complex, the solutions remain embarrassingly simple." He created Permaculture in order to distribute those solutions to the world and entire theory and application of Permaculture solutions is entombed in his book, Permaculture: A Designers Manual.

Permaculture is described as a holistic approach to environmentally sound living. It requires no leap of faith, belief, or strict guidelines. It does have a set of ethics that it adheres to;

· Care for the earth

· Care for each other

· Invest all resources into those ends

Some of the world’s most experienced and leading teachers to date are:

Larry Santoyo of EarthFlow Design Works

Scott Pittman of The Permaculture Institute

Darren Duartey Australia Felix Permaculture

and of course,

Bill Mollison of Tigari Publications

Permaculture today spans the globe, eco-conscious citizens of all backgrounds are practicing the methodology of living in ecological balance in ways that are uniquely appropriate to them. While its name is not understated in the throngs of “green” and “eco” advertisements at this time, Permaculture’s roots are solid, strong, and growing. For those of you interested in helping yourself and your world truly reach societal and environmental triumph, the time is now.
